MSN Occupational and Environmental Health Nurse Practitioner – Through a partnership with the School of Public Health, the School of Nursing offers a two-year Primary Nurse Practitioner Occupational and Environmental Health (ANP) that focuses on addressing worker health and safety throughout the global economy.
MSN Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) – Within a two-year program consisting equally of nursing theory and clinical practicum experience, the FNP track prepares graduates for ambulatory care settings to serve the needs of both individuals and whole families.
MSN Acute Care Oncology (CNS and/or NP) – In preparation for certification as an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) and/or an Advanced Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist (AOCNS), the Oncology specialization involves extra preparation in the care of adults at risk for, with, or having survived cancer.
MSN Acute Care Pediatrics (CNS and/or PNP) – Designed to prepare students to meet the acute care needs of infants, children, and adolescents across all healthcare settings, the two-year Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) and Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) programs involves 500 clinical hours for eligibility for the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB).
Master’s Entry Clinical Nurse (MECN) – As a two-year, pre-licensure degree track, the MECN program allows students from other fields to become eligible for the Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) certification, and an optional Public Health Nursing Certificate upon completion.

MSN Adult/Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (AGCNS) – In preparation for becoming certified through the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Gerontological CNS, students in this program track are required to attend courses twice a week and spend two full days each week within a clinical training setting.
MSN Adult/Gerontology Critical Care Trauma Clinical Nurse Specialist (AGCNS-CCT) – Through a strong curriculum focused on pathophysiology, pharmacology, clinical management of critical care, trauma, and critical analysis of practice issues, the AGCNS-CCT program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in prestigious critical care settings with advanced practice nurses as their mentors.
MSN Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) – For students interested in diagnosing and managing the common acute and chronic primary health care problems of adults, the AGNP program track enables students to select a focus in HIV/AIDS or Occupational and Environmental Health, depending on career interests and goals.
MSN Advanced Practice Public Health Nursing (APPHN) – Within the APPHN program track, students gain extensive knowledge in community planning, health promotion, population-level intervention strategies, grant writing, healthcare systems, health policy, and leadership across diverse vulnerable populations.
MSN Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) – In order to meet the healthcare needs of families through health assessments, direct care, guidance, education, and counseling, the two-year FNP program trains nurses to become certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). MSN Nurse Midwifery/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) – Partnered with the UCSF School of Medicine, the Nurse Midwifery/WHNP program track involves two years of studies and clinical practice to gain expertise in the primary health needs of women across the life cycle.
MSN Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing Specialist (OEHS) – Within two academic semesters, students in the OEHS program track focus on implementing programs to for optimal workplace safety to help prevent the more than 56,000 U.S. deaths each year from work-related illnesses and injuries.
MSN Adult/Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Oncology – Designed to prepare students for leadership positions in clinical practice of acute or chronic oncology care, the Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist program can be completed within two years. Students can also decide to minor in Genomics, which is the science of cancer genetics and predispositions.
MSN Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) – In preparation for certification through the Pediatric National Certification Board (PNCB), students in the PNP program track obtain valuable experience in pediatric primary health care for infants, children, and adolescents.
